By submitting this form, you express your desire to be a candidate for the Junior Fair Board of the National Peanut Festival. I am willing to volunteer a total of 50 hours with The National Peanut Festival by November 9, 2025. This commitment will include 20 hours prior to the National Peanut Festival and 30 hours during the National Peanut Festival. I may be asked to assist in areas with a Board Member supervising, including AG barn activities, concerts, arena events, gate activity, office, social media content, Peanut Pavilion, or other Fun Fairground activities.

*Applications are due to the National Peanut Festival office (5622 Us Hwy 231 South, Dothan 36301) no later than 12 NOON on Friday, February 21, 2025. *The program interviews will be held in March. You will be contacted about a specific interview time.

* Please attach Two (2) letters of recommendation – one from a teacher/principal/school counselor and one from a personal reference (non-family).

Parental consent forms will be emailed to your parents along with your commitment letter.

Junior Fair Board 2025

The primary purpose of the Junior Fair Board is to promote, support, and represent the National Peanut Festival. This is accomplished by serving as public relations ambassadors for the 2025 Festival, volunteering a minimum of 50 hours of community service of which 30 hours will be served during the National Peanut Festival, Oct 31- Nov 9, 2025. Interested high school students, who meet the following requirements, are eligible to apply.

Applications were due to the National Peanut Festival office (5622 Us Hwy 231 South, Dothan 36301) no later than 12 NOON on Friday, February 21, 2025. Late applications will not be accepted.

The Junior Fair Board 2025 requirements are:

You must be a High School Junior or Senior for the 2025-2026 school year.

You must have a 3.0 grade average or greater.

You must live with a parent or guardian, unmarried and without children.

You must be a resident of Alabama/Florida/Georgia.

You must be able to volunteer for a minimum of 50 hours for this “Community Service.” 20 hours prior to the National Peanut Festival and 30 hours during the National Peanut Festival.

You must submit the application and two (2) letters of recommendation. One from a teacher/principal/ or school counselor and one from a personal reference (non-family.)

The 2025 Junior Fair Board applicants will be interviewed in March, 2025. Applicants must work effectively in a team environment, look professional, possess good communication skills and have a pleasing personality.

Previous JFB members must turn in an updated application.

The Junior Fair Board shall have the following duties and expectations:

a. Make recommendations to the National Peanut Festival Board of Directors regarding NPF operations. b. Assist in preparation for the Fair with specific duties to be scheduled.

c. Serve in the role of liaison with their represented High School.

d. Attend the regular meetings of the NPF JFB each year. Date TBD.

e. Communicate and actively participate with the JFB group.

f. Contribute volunteer service hours during pre-Fair, post-Fair, and the Fair itself as required.

g. Actively participate at special NPF sponsored events at the Fairgrounds.

h. Interact positively with exhibitors, vendors, staff, volunteers, and NPF Board Members.

i. Members of the Junior Fair Board shall serve without compensation of any kind.

j. Maximum of 25 participants.
